Blackball Signature (Icy) (RM6.90)

The BlackBall Signature is a combination of grass jelly ice, yam ball, taro Q, golden sweet potato, sweet potato ball, red bean, pearl and grass jelly into a cooling bowl of dessert. This dessert come in 4 variations - hot, warm, cold and icy. We had the icy, which had grass jelly ice shavings hidden at the bottom of the ingredients. The taro Q, yam ball and sweet potato balls were very chewy and the grass jelly was smooth. This is definitely a recommended cooling dessert!

The is definitely one of the best drinks for a hot weather. The combination of the lime juice with Ai Yu jelly provides a great cooling sensation! The only bad thing to pinpoint is the overloaded ice cubes which made it troublesome picking out the jellies.

This laksa is heavenly! The laksa was not very spicy and the tau pok were nicely soaked up with the laksa gravy.

Hong Kong Kim Gary Restaurant

Kim Gary is definitely one of my favourite Hong Kong Cafes in Singapore (or maybe JB as well) which serves pretty good food. They offer a good variety of variety of baked rices, noodles, hot plate dishes, snacks and drinks.

Most of their dishes come in Set Meal which includes your main, a drink, a soup and a dessert. The drinks comes in a quite a good variety of standard list, but if you wish to get other choices of their drinks on their menu you can just top up an amount for it. Whilst the soup would either be borsch or cream soup and the dessert would be dependent on their dessert of the day.

The Borsch Soup is a watery and sweet based soup with mixed ingredients of vegetables. On the other hand, the Cream Soup is a light creamy and serves as a good appetizer to warm up the stomach as it is not too heavy.

Combo Hot Plate (Set Meal Price: RM19.90+)

The Combo Hot Plate is pretty interesting as it comes with grilled pork chop, fish fillet and chicken chop. A range of three different meats served with greens, potato wedges and a corn in sizzling. A good option for carnivores or anyone who wants to try different meats on a plate.

Fish Fillet Baked Rice with Cheese in White Sauce (Set Meal Price: RM18.90+)

The Fish Fillet Baked Rice was served in the basket which we typically seen serving buns or dim sums. The baked rice was served hot and the fish fillets tastes soft. The sweet corns added well to the warm and savoury fillet.

We tried the above in the Johor Bahru outlet at KSL and they currently also have 2 other outlets in Singapore at Vivo City (always seen with long queue during peak hours) and at Tampines 1.

BBQ Chicken Chop (RM17.90+)

The restaurant had a pretty nice ambience with a good variety of western food menu ranging from hotplate, pasta to chicken chop. Both the Mexican Burger and BBQ Chicken Chop were in rather big portion. I like the thick cut fries which made it very satisfying on each bites. The burger was a double beef patties with pepper sauce, which made the burger very flavourful. The chicken chop was also tender and yummy.

Recommended for family to chill out with great food.

Kinsahi Japanese Restaurant, KSL City Mall, JB

The Kinsahi Restaurant has a very posh and grand outlook. The lighting of the restaurant was rather dark. We got a cubicle sofa seat which gave a private feel. In general, I think the food were pricey and tasted average, which make the grand feel of the restaurant rather empty.

The Apple Crumble was served on a sizzling skillet with green apple chunks, vanilla ice cream and a drench of butterscotch cream sauce. I like how the sour green apple chunks tasted with the warm and sweet apple crumble and butterscotch cream sauce. A very warm and satisfying dessert!

Pepperoni & Cheese pizza comes with beef pepperoni with cheese on a tomato base. Pretty yummy.

Tiramisu Latte looks very pretty when served with the layering and the taste did match up with the pretty outlook of the coffee.

Melaka, JB - Day 3

We ended up at this PHD (pizza hut delivery) outlet again, exact same one we visited during our last trip. The soup was placed in styrofoam bowls because they do not offer dine-in. However they do have tables for people to sit in their restaurant to eat.

Soup was quite bland but for take-away standards, it is considered acceptable. The garlic bread was fragrant and tasted good even when eaten without the soup.

We went to this Japanese restaurant call Ichiban Ramen at AEON Tebrau City Shopping Centre. The menu didn't look appealing, but surprisingly,  they served pretty decent Japanese food as above seen.

Blackball at KSL City Mall. I love this dish! It contains Grass Jelly Ice (hidden below Grass Jelly), Grass Jelly, Taro Balls, Taro Q, Pearl & Red Bean. The taro balls were so chewy and yummy.
