Wimpy - Beef ($14.50)

Instead of the signature Fat Basterd Burger, I went for the Wimpy burger, which is the single patty version of the former. The Wimpy Burger comes with a beef chuck patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, a sunny-side up and their homemade Fatboy's sauce on a sesame bun. The thick cut fries tasted pretty average. But the Heinz tomato sauce actually managed to impress the Prince, who is not quite a fan of tomato/chilli sauce. The texture of the bun and meat was soft and could easily cut down using a knife, which made eating the burger not much of a hassle.

Jamaican Me Hungry ($13)

The Jamaican Me Hungry burger is a "taller" burger. It comes with Jerk seasoned bacon stuffed Pork patty topped with sundried tomatoes and homemade coleslaw and smothered with mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun.

Besides the great list of speciality burgers on the menu, they also allows you to create your own burger with choice of bun, patty, add ons and sauces!

IDLE@Dempsey

We visited Idle @ Dempsey on a weekday night with a deal voucher bought online. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas. The alfresco dining is by a jungle-alike atmosphere, whilst the indoor dining feels like a bar.

We chose the indoor seats as the outdoor didn't feel comfortable enough. The ambience inside felt more like a bar than a dining place for me with the dance numbers as the background music, dim lighting, tall black sofa chairs and alcohols on display. The dining table was also too low for the sofa chair for proper dining.

Whisky Scallops ($15)

The Whisky Scallops are flambé scallops with whisky which tasted pretty tasty and fragrant.

Soft Shell Crab ($15)

Soft Shell Crabs were deep-fried crispy and easily chewable, coupled with the Thai chilli sauce, makes this a perfect combination!

Pan Seared Sea Bass ($24)

The main he ordered was the Pan Seared Sea Bass accompanied with roasted pepper purée served with garden salad and fries. The Sea Bass was soft and tender while the fries and salad were decent.

Pasta Marinara ($18)

Pasta Marinara came with prawns, mussels and squids which all tasted fresh and well-cooked. The spaghetti tomato sauce was also good.

All in all, the food was good but ambience was not quite up to mark. I think it is more worthy to visit this restaurant with the online deal voucher because we only had to pay $42 in whole (the $15 deal voucher is $30 worth). But $72 for the above dishes and ambience is exorbitant.

The King Louis Grill & Bar

Ambience of the place is quite good with live singer singing for the whole night. They tried to make the whole restaurant look like a medieval styled placed with the King Louis statue and their dim lighting, which gives you the very posh feeling.

However, the food prices were reasonable considering that their quantity is quite big. These 2 dishes set us back by $16.90 each and the total bill was $40 after taxes and service charge. They really give heavy servings of the fries and the roasted potatoes. However, my cheesy crispy chicken tasted average only. I had expected it to be more "explosive". The beer battered fish was much better but their batter was a little too thick for my liking.

Recommended for a groups/couples who want a place with good ambiance and after meal drinks, with reasonable pricing.

And yes, the live singer will sing a happy birthday song and present a cake for those celebrating birthdays.
