Our Vday dinner :)
As we were walking around Marina Square finding a place to eat, we saw Hippopotamus Restaurant Grill which was filled with a nice cosy romantic ambience, and so we decided to try it out.
Maid's Beef patty with fried egg with green
bean, baked potato & ratatouille ($15.90++)
Looks can be deceiving, there is a huge chunk of beef patty hidden below the fried egg. As usual, the Maid's stomach was so small and she could not finish the plate because of their generous side servings.
Prince's Hanger Steak with potato gratin,
baked potato & ratatouille ($18.90++)
The Maid liked the bloody taste from my Hanger Steak. The meat was quite tough even though we asked for Medium Rare, however it went well with the cheesy sauce. Potato gratin in cheese was not very appetizing though.
Overall, the bill for 2 came up to $40 with taxes and service charge inclusive and was quite a reasonable price given that the restaurant had a good atmosphere (candlelight for each table) for Valentines Day.
